Liverpool have refocused their efforts on capturing Piotr Zielinski, according to a report.

Klopp was thought to be pursuing Borussia Monchengladbach’s Mahmoud Dahoud after extensive initial scouting of Zielinski.

But it is now believed Liverpool have once again set their sights on a move for the Udinese player, who has been hugely impressive during a loan spell with Empoli.

Italian outlet Il Messaggero claim that Liverpool have have accelerated their efforts to land Zielinski after a few days of reflection regarding their chances of landing Dahoud or his fellow German ace Mario Gotze.

Zielinski was the the star for Empoli in the recently completed domestic season, scoring five goals from midfield and adding six assists in 35 Serie A appearances for the club.

The Poland international was on loan from parent club Udinese, but the Italian club are believed to be willing sellers.

Zielinksi has expressed in the past a liking for Liverpool and thinks he could be an excellent partner for Philippe Coutinho in the heart of the Reds midfield.

In other Liverpool news, the Reds are monitoring the situation of another £21million rated midfielder.
