Liverpool are preparing to beat Arsenal to the signing of Torino forward Andrea Belotti, according to a report.

Italian news outlet Calcio Mercato has claimed that the Reds are readying a bid for the 22-year-old in order to beat the Gunners to a deal, stating that the Merseysiders intend to spend £19.5million on the Italy international.

The young striker has been in impressive form in the new campaign with six goals in eight appearances for club and country.

The Italy international still has four years left on his contract and it is stated that Torino want to keep the forward ace, but that they could falter at the face of the reported Liverpool offer.

Liverpool have not struggled in front of goal in the new campaign, scoring an impressive 18 goals in their first seven fixtures in the league.

However, with Roberto Firmino currently leading the Reds line, Jurgen Klopp could be looking to bring a more natural striker into his team.

Klopp will lead his side against fierce rivals Manchester United on Monday and the Merseysiders will be keen to continue with their impressive start to the new campaign.

In other Liverpool transfer news, the Reds are interested in signing Porto midfielder Ruben Neves.
