Simon Mignolet revealed on Twitter that Liverpool must keep their “momentum” going when they face Chelsea.

The Reds travel to Stamford Bridge on Friday night for the Premier League fixture and both side’s have started the season in decent form.

Jurgen Klopp’s side dispatched reigning champions Leicester 4-1 on Saturday and the Reds are looking a real attacking threat this season.

Since a shock 2-0 defeat away to Burnley, Liverpool have recorded comfortable victories over the Foxes and Burton in the EFL second-round, whilst earning a credible point at White Hart Lane against Tottenham.

Goalkeeper Mignolet has took to his personal Twitter account on Thursday night to express his excitement ahead of the clash and revealed they must continue the good form.

“Friday night football away at Chelsea, let’s keep our momentum,” he said.

However, former Liverpool goalkeeper Chris Kirkland has urged Klopp to replace Mignolet in the side with new signing Loris Karius.

The Belgian has come under heavy criticism at Anfield since he joined in 2013, with many fans labelling the goalkeeper as error-prone.

Mignolet is undoubtedly a great shot stopper but there are question marks over his handling.

He has made 154 appearances for Liverpool and kept 49 clean sheets during his three-year stay at the club.

Karius was recruited this summer to provide competition for the number one jersey and could be given the opportunity to play against Chelsea after recovering from a broken hand injury picked up in the same fixture in pre-season.

In other Liverpool team news, stats have revealed one area in which the club top the Premier League pile ahead of Manchester City.
