Jurgen Klopp could respond to Barcelona’s pursuit of Philippe Coutinho by renewing interest in Arda Turan, according to the latest Spanish reports.
Don Balon claim Liverpool are set to fight back after the Spanish giants identified the Anfield playmaker as their No1 target next year.
It is said that the Merseysiders are by preparing a bid for Barcelona attacking midfielder Turan in January.
The report claims Klopp is targeting Turan as a back-up plan in case the Spanish champions are able to prise Coutinho away and is set to line up a deal as part of a potential agreement.
In addition, Liverpool are reportedly making an improved contract offer for Coutinho their ultimate priority as they hope to scare off Barcelona’s pursuit.
Turan has already made 12 appearances for the Catalan club this season and has scored five goals, including two in the Spanish La Liga, as well as supplying four assists.
The 29 year-old joined Barcelona in 2015 for £26 million from Atletico Madrid but has started just 15 league games under Luis Enrique.
