Liverpool are the latest side to seize the initiative in the race to sign Fulham wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon, according to a report.

The Sun claim the Merseysiders are camped out at Fulham to watch the left-back sensation.

It is said that Tottenham have made a move for the 16-year-old but Liverpool have been to see him every week since his debut.

Football Insider revealed last month that Spurs were willing to offer three players in a swap deal for the youngster dubbed the “new Gareth Bale”.

Sessegnon is an attacking left-back who is a prolific goal creator and scorer. The England Under-17 international, who only turned 16 in May, has scored two goals and supplied one assist from left-back in five six matches for the club this season.

At 16 years and 94 days he also became the Championship’s youngest scorer last month just four days after he made his league debut in a 1-1 draw at Leeds.

Sessegnon is one of the most highly-rated young players at the prolific Fulham academy, which has produced a number of outstanding young talents in recent years, including Mousa Dembele and Patrick Roberts.

Football Insider revealed in February that Arsenal had made an offer for the England Under-16 captain.

In other Liverpool transfer news, Kevin De Bruyne agreed personal terms to sign for Jurgen Klopp.
