Simon Mignolet was in good spirits on Twitter after his Belgium side recorded an emphatic 8-1 victory against Estonia on Sunday evening.

The Red Devils stormed to a thrilling victory in their World Cup qualifier to make it four wins out of four, to extend their lead at the top of the Group H qualifying group.

Liverpool’s goalkeeper was on the bench alongside fellow Reds teammate Divock Origi and did not make an appearance despite starting in their 1-1 draw against Holland on Wednesday night.

Dries Mertens and Romelu Lukaku scored two goals each, with the Everton striker netting both goals late in the second-half as he completed the full 90 minutes.

There were further goals from Chelsea star Eden Hazard, as well as Thomas Meunier and Yannick Carrasco, with Henri Anier scoring a consolation goal for Estonia.

It was a disappointing night for Mignolet’s defensive teammate though as Ragnar Klavan scored an own goal for Estonia and the Liverpool summer signing captained his side in the miserable thrashing.

Mignolet has been second best to Thibaut Courtios in goal for Belgium and has been dropped by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool following the arrival of Loris Karius.
