Daniel Sturridge and Jordan Henderson have not been included in the Liverpool squad to face West Ham on Saturday, Football Insider sources understand.
The England internationals miss the Premier League clash at Upton Park, which kicks off at 12.45pm, due to injury.
Sturridge is still recovering from a hamstring strain and Henderson suffered a foot injury in Wednesday’s 1-0 win at Sunderland.
A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that neither player was in the travelling party that left Merseyside on Friday afternoon to travel to London.
Jurgen Klopp had hinted at his pre-match press conference on Thursday that Sturridge could make his comeback against the Hammers after claiming on social media site Twitter last week that he was fully fit.
But the manager wants to be certain that Sturridge is at a certain level of fitness and will not break down again before he gives him the green light to spearhead the attack.
Sturridge has been dogged by an array of ailments over the past 18 months and has missed the Merseysiders’ past five matches due to a hamstring strain he suffered against Newcastle United on 5 December.
Meanwhile, Henderson felt discomfort in his heel, which led to his substitution at the Stadium of Light, and will continue to receive treatment on Merseyside.
