Tottenham and Liverpool would have to pay a £35million release fee to take Moussa Marega away from Porto, according to reports.

French newspaper L’Equipe, claim the striker is being monitored by the two Premier League sides in France as he continues to perform well while on loan.

The 25 year-old has impressed this season by scoring a phenomenal 10 league goals in nine games already in France and has caught the eye of both English clubs.

According to a report in TalkSPORT, the two sides would have to pay the large sum in order to bring him to England and that may stall any future transfer plans.

The Premier League pair have sent scouts to Portugal to watch Marega, as he continues to produce eye-catching displays and receive positive feedback according to reports in the French newspaper.

TalkSPORT claim it is not the first time Premier League clubs have been interested in the Mali international, with Crystal Palace, Stoke City and Watford all showing previous interest.

Spurs have lacked firepower in front of goal this season and five draws in seven games have seen them slump down to fifth in the Premier League.

In comparison, Liverpool have had 10 different goalscorers in the Premier League this season after Giorginio Winaldum netted his first for the club during their 6-1 routing over Watford on Sunday.

In other Tottenham news, this is why Arsenal’s goal during their 1-1 draw should not have counted.
