Hugo Lloris claims that Tottenham can bounce back on Saturday against Chelsea after their European defeat.

Spurs suffered a 2-1 away loss against Monaco on Tuesday night and were eliminated from the Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will still qualify for the Europa League if they avoid defeat against CSKA Moscow in their final group game.

The north London club face Premier League leaders Chelsea in their next match and Pochettino will be hoping for a positive result against their rivals.

Spurs captain Lloris believes that the Chelsea fixture is the perfect opportunity to respond after their European misery.

“I have no doubt about that,” Lloris told the club’s official website. “I said the same after we lost against Leverkusen at Wembley, this is the best type of game to bounce back (we faced Arsenal away on that occasion). The only thing is to digest the frustration of this defeat and look forward.”

Spurs travel to Stamford Bridge on Saturday and face a Chelsea team that have won their last six league games without conceding.

Antonio Conte’s side have risen to the summit of the Premier League table and are the in-form side in the division.

Spurs have won just a single game in their last nine across all competitions and have struggled without senior centre-back Toby Alderweireld.

Harry Kane has returned after a 10-game layout through injury and scored four goals in three games, including a late brace in the 3-2 victory against West Ham on Saturday.

The club’s senior players will be hoping to step up in the highly anticipated clash with Chelsea and Lloris is one of the few players who gave a strong performance against Monaco.

The 29-year-old saved a penalty from Radamel Falcao and pulled off some great stops to restrict Moanco to just two goals.

In other Tottenham news, Nemanja Matic and Dele Alli are omitted from a combined XI with Chelsea players.
