Karius, 23, has played in goal for each of Liverpool’s last three fixtures in all competitions replacing Belgian Simon Mignolet.
The former Sunderland shot stopper has made a string of mistakes during his time in Merseyside and it looks as though he will now feature as backup to the German.
Liverpool have been impressive in front of goal in the new campaign with 18 goals in their first seven encounters.
However, they also have the worst defensive record in the Premier League’s top nine, conceding 10 goals.
Fans of the club will be hoping for a positive display against Karius alongside the three points against their most hated rivals.
In other Liverpool news, Jurgen Klopp and Jose Mourinho’s head-to-head record favours the Reds boss.
