Liverpool star Mamadou Sakho has taken two families on an all expenses paid trip to Disneyland Paris.

Sakho, 26, is yet to feature for the Liverpool first-team this season after falling out with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp during the club’s pre-season tour of America.

Despite issues on the pitch, the France international joined up with charitable foundation An Hour for Others in the UK to provide the once in a lifetime holiday for families who have recently been bereaved.

“We invited these families to spend an unforgettable weekend in Paris to make them forget their troubles for a while,” Sakho said in a video made by the charity on Vimeo.

“We had dinner in an African restaurant which meant a lot to me. British people coming to France to eat African food is the exact illustration of the values we want to share.

“We wanted the children to have a good time and I think we achieved that. My wife and I really wanted to share this moment with them.”

The centre-back has played 80 times for the Merseyside outfit since his move from Paris Saint-Germain in 2013.

The defender has developed an unwanted reputation for causing trouble in recent years but has received just three yellow cards and no red cards in his Anfield career.

Liverpool currently sit fourth in the Premier League after picking up 16 points from seven matches this season.

Despite a 2-0 loss to Burnley in August Klopp’s side have taken points from every league game this season including wins against Arsenal, Chelsea and Leicester.

In other Liverpool news, fans reacted with delight after Jordan Henderson’s phenomenal strike against Chelsea was voted the club’s goal of the month winner by supporters.
