Bacary Sagna will miss Manchester City’s Premier League meeting against Everton – and City supporters were left devastated on Twitter with the news.

City confirmed on their official website that Sagna will be sidelined for three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury with France.

The defender was forced off after just 27 minutes in France’s 4-1 win against Bulgaria last Friday and will face an extended period on the sidelines.

City manager Pep Guardiola is set to name Pablo Zabaleta at right-back, who has played the club’s last two games, and he will come up against Everton winger Yannick Bolasie.

Bolasie, 27, is yet to opening his goal scoring account at Goodison Park but has registered two assists and should test experienced veteran Zabaleta.

City fans have voiced their concern on Twitter with the injury and a couple of fans have doubted the ability of Zabaleta.

Bolasie moved to Goodison Park in the summer and has been a part of a drastic improvement at Everton.

The Toffees are fifth-placed in the Premier League and their match against league leaders City should test their European ambitions.

Bolasie impressed at his former club Crystal Palace, scoring 13 goals and supplying 30 assists in 140 appearances.

His likely opponent Zabaleta has made 310 appearances for City but the 31-year-old is considered an understudy to Sagna by several fans.
