Manchester City should be considered as the favourites to win the Premier League title ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool despite not creating as many headlines.

Chelsea have been in sensational form recently and won their last seven league games, conceding just the one goal against Tottenham on Saturday to go top of the table.

The Blues have a one point lead ahead of City and Liverpool but Pep Guardiola’s side are still the team to beat despite Chelsea’s recent rise in form.

City’s squad is packed with experienced stars who know what it takes to win the title and juggle several competitions throughout the season, including the Champions League.

Guardiola’s arrival in the summer helped to strengthen the team’s hand and shrewd summer signings Ilkay Gundogan, Claudio Bravo and John Stones have already become regulars.

Liverpool’s attacking trio have grabbed all the headlines but City’s combination of Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne is equally as effective and the duo top the charts in league goals and assists.

In 11 league appearances Aguero has already netted 10 goals, which is a feat only matched by Diego Costa, and De Bruyne has supplied seven assists as well as creating 85 chances in all competitions so far this season.

Fernandinho has also been instrumental in midfield, making 939 passes already this season and between the Brazilian and David Silva, they have played 21 successful through-balls into City’s attacking lines and constantly provide threatening service.

The return of Yaya Toure has further strengthened the side and they have depth across the squad so must be considered favourites to win the title.

In other Manchester City news, the signing of this young Liverpool star has put the club in trouble with the FA.
