Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are both named in the Manchester United team to face Watford on Wednesday night.

Fit-again Martial is set to start on the flanks, with teen sensation Rashford expected to spearhead the attack for the third consecutive match following the extraordinary start to his career.

Louis van Gaal continues to trust in youth by handing Tim Fosu-Mensah his first United start, while another youngster, midfielder Joe Rothwell, is named in the matchday squad for the first time.

Marcos Rojo keeps his place after recovering from a knock and will partner Daley Blind in the centre of defence.

But there is no place in the squad for Michael Carrick after he played in the wins over Arsenal and Midtjylland last week at centre-back.

Van Gaal said before kick-off: “He is rested because he played two matches in a row. He’s not the youngest so we take no risks.”
