Manchester United will dispatch scouts to keep tabs on Aaron Cresswell over the coming months, Football Insider sources understand.
The Premier League giants are set to assess the in-form West Ham left-back as they consider cover for Luke Shaw.
The England international suffered a double leg fracture against PSV Eindhoven in midweek and the club do not expect him to play again this season.

Marcus Rojo filled in for Shaw in Sunday’s 3-2 win at Southampton but had a poor game and was substituted after 69 minutes, when Paddy McNair came on to play centre-back and Daley Blind moved across to left-back.
Louis van Gaal is weighing up whether he needs to recruit a specialist left-back and has asked the club’s recruitment team to compile a list of targets.
United scouted Cresswell during West Ham’s 2-1 win over Manchester City on Saturday and intend to keep a close eye on him during the coming months.
Cresswell has begun the season in impressive fashion and has been a crucial figure in the Hammers’ against-the-odds wins at Arsenal, Liverpool and City.
The 25-year-old former Ipswich defender has played every minute of every game for Slaven Bilic’s team in the new campaign after a fine debut season at the club.
