Mark Lawrenson has predicted Everton to suffer a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday evening at Stamford Bridge.
Ronald Koeman’s side take on an inform Blues team, who are currently sat in fourth place and fighting alongside Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City for the much sought after Premier League title.
Antonio Conte’s men have improved after changing their formation to a three at the back, which has seen them win their last four Premier League matches without conceding.
Meanwhile the Toffees themselves are impressing under Koeman, but Lawrenson has stated that he’ll still tip Chelsea to win the clash.
“Chelsea boss Antonio Conte does not make a fuss whether his side win, lose or draw,” Lawrenson wrote on the BBC Sport website. “I am quietly impressed by him.
“Everton also have a good manager in Ronald Koeman and I was not surprised to see them return to winning ways against West Ham last week.
“The Toffees belong in the top seven and they also look like they are in for a good season. I am backing Chelsea to continue their winning run on Saturday, though.”
Everton won the last meeting between the Toffees and Chelsea in a 2-0 victory following a Romelu Lukaku double.
However, both clubs are reformed under their new respective managers following a disappointing last campaign and it is set to be a tightly contested fixture.
Everton could move up to fifth with a win, leapfrogging Spurs if results go their way, while Chelsea could move to the top of the league depending on other results.
In other Everton news, this senior man could return against Chelsea.
