Liverpool ace Joe Allen is set to undergo a Stoke medical on Monday after agreeing personal terms, according to a report.

The Liverpool Echo claim that Potters manager Mark Hughes has convinced Allen to move to Stoke and end his four-year spell at Liverpool

It is said the Wales Euro 2016 hero will undergo medical examinations in Monday and put the finishing touches to the £13million transfer before joining up with the rest of his new squad in Florida.

The 26-year-old is Hughes’ first foray into the transfer market, after outbidding Allen’s former side Swansea.

It has been reported that the Welsh side submitted an £8million offer, which was rejected.

Allen, who has made 132 appearances for the Merseyside club, has just 12 months remaining on his Anfield deal and manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to cash in on the former Wrexham loanee.

The midfielder was crucial to Chris Coleman’s Wales side that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2016, starring in their 3-1 quarter-final triumph against Belgium.

Allen starred in 37 encounters for the Liverpool last season in all competitions, which included 11 appearances in the club’s successful Europa League campaign.

Klopp is said to be a fan of the Welshman, but he can’t guarantee him regular game time and has therefore sanctioned Allen’s exit.

In other Liverpool transfer news, Klopp is desperate to sign this Premier League left-back.
