Everton are set to take their January spending close to the £50million mark after agreeing a deal to sign striker Ishak Belfodil, according to a report.
The Guardian claim the Merseysiders have settled a £10.4million fee with Standard Liege for Belfodil, 24.
It is said that the Algeria international, who is currently at Standard’s winter training camp in Spain, is set to fly to Merseyside to discuss personal terms in the next 48 hours.
The Guardian report that Steve Walsh, Everton’s director of football, has offered a three-year contract to Belfodil, who is tied to the Belgium club until 2018.

Belfodil is in line to become Everton’s third signing of what is becoming a productive window after they signed winger Ademola Lookman from Charlton for £11million and agreed a deal worth up to £24million for central midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
Former Lyon forward Belfodil, who has earned 14 Algeria caps, has been in fine form for Belgian outfit Standard Liege this season, scoring nine goals and supplying four assists in 21 matches.
Belfodil joined last summer from Baniyas Club in Abu Dhabi following difficult spells at Parma and Inter Milan, where he made just eight appearances despite signing for around £5million in July 2013.
With Arouna Kone hit badly by injuries and £13.5million flop Oumar Niasse in talks to join Hull on a loan-to-buy deal, a back-up striker is needed.
Belfodil joined Standard last summer on a free transfer and signed a two-year contract that runs until the summer of 2018.
Football Insider verdict:
The doomsday scenario for Koeman is if anything happens to key man Lukaku. Without him, Everton would lose much of their attacking threat and it is clear they need reinforcements. Bringing in a striker with the pedigree that Belfodil possesses could even get the best out of Lukaku, as it will keep him on his toes by providing top-quality competition. With his contract at Standard set to end in 2018, Belfodil could be allowed to leave the Belgian outfit for a bargain price as they look to prevent losing him on a free next season.
