Everton are set to meet with Bordeaux to discuss signing striker Diego Rolan, according to a report.
Ronald Koeman will step up the Merseysiders’ squad improvements after losing out on ex-Southampton striker Graziano Pelle and accepting defeat in his bid to sign Axel Witsel from Zenti St Petersburg.
Italian broadcaster Sportitalia claim the key meeting to land Rolan is set for Tuesday with Everton willing to stump up a fee of £13million.
The international striker has two years left on the contract he signed in August 2015, and the report says Bordeaux are holding out for7 closer to £17million.
Everton are searching for a new striker with doubts surrounding the future of star man Romelu Lukaku.
Football Insider reported on Monday that Koeman is resigned to losing star striker Lukaku at Everton this summer.
Lukaku has been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison Park and it was said that the Belgian wanted to be at a European heavyweight with Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Arsenal among the clubs interested.
Bordeaux signed Rolan, 23, in 2013 from Defensor for £2.5million, and the front man has since played 116 times across all competitions, scoring 28 times.
Last season he played 31 times in the league and scored scored seven times with four further assists, as Bordeaux stuttered towards an eleventh placed finish.
He has played 21 times for Uruguay, scoring three times including one against Columbia in a World Cup qualifier last October.
In other Everton news, their £30million target is set to sign a four-year deal.
