Super agent Jorge Mendes is planning to clinch Manchester United deals this summer for two of his star clients, according to GianlucadiMarzio.com.

Mendes is said to be targeting Mourinho as Louis van Gaal’s replacement, while he wants the former Chelsea manager to be joined at Old Trafford by Valencia midfielder Andre Gomes.

In a report addressing Juventus’ attempts to sign Gomes this month, it reads: “The player’s agent Jorge Mendes has a big project in mind: bring his client to Manchester United along with Mourinho next summer.”

Van Gaal is under growing pressure at the Premier League giants, with pundits and supporters critical of the team’s sterile style of play.

United have won their last two matches following an eight-game winless run but the Dutchman, who is out of contract in 18 months, is steadily losing the faith of the fans.

Mourinho has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in December, and has subsequently been closely linked to United.

Gomes is a 22-year-old central midfielder, who is not a first-team regular at Valencia but has impressed in his run-outs since joining from Benfica last summer.
