Former Leeds striker Michael Bridges is in awe on Twitter after Celtic youngster Karamoko Dembele burst onto the social media scene.
The 13-year-old amazingly played for Celtic’s under-20 side, after coming off the substitute’s bench to play the last nine minutes in the Hoops’ 3-1 SPL Development League win over Hearts.
Bridges, who also played for Sunderland and Newcastle during his injury-ridden career, claimed on his personal Twitter account that Dembele was “insane” and fans should “remember the name”.
First-team action could soon be on the cards for the teenager, after already featuring for the Scottish giants in their Under-15 squad against West Brom, Sheffield United and Barcelona.
The attacking midfielder has been a revelation on social media, as videos continue to circulate of the left footed youngster showing some silky skills and incredible goals on Twitter.
Dembele is said to have already caught the attention of some of the world’s biggest clubs but is understood to be settled with the Scottish giants.
The starlet is the shining star of the Hoops’ academy and was voted Player of the Tournament at the St Kevin’s Academy Cup.
Former England under-21 international Bridges, who made his Sunderland debut at just 18 years of age, was amazed by the young talent.
The former striker endured a difficult career at Elland Road with injury interrupting his five-year stay at Elland Road and reducing him to just 75 league and cup appearances. Despite 18 of those coming as a substitute, Bridges still found the net on 21 separate occasions.
