Michael Owen believes the north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham will finish in a stalemate at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.

TV pundit Owen has predicted a 1-1 draw for the highly anticipated showdown even though he believes Arsene Wenger’s side are “worthy favourites” going into the weekend clash.

The Gunners have failed to beat their north London opponents in their last four Premier League games.

Spurs lost their Champions League group game to Bayer Leverkusen in midweek, but former Liverpool striker Owen has backed Mauricio Pochettino’s side to pick up a point at Arsenal.

“A high noon kick off on Sunday at the Emirates for the North London derby and a game too close to call,” Owen wrote in his Bet Victor column. “The Gunners are without a win in their last four PL games against Spurs but, with home advantage, are worthy favourites.

“Spurs, however, have only conceded five goals in the PL so far this term and will want to put behind another bad night at the Champions League office at Wembley midweek.”

Pochettino’s men are the only unbeaten team in the league this season, but they have drawn a league high of five games.

As a result they are fifth in the table with 20 points from ten games, while Arsenal are second with 23 points, as only goal difference separates the top three.

In other Arsenal team news, club legend Martin Keown believes Arsene Wenger should select this key figure against Tottenham.
