Michael Owen has stated on Twitter that Arsenal have been given “another stinking draw” as Bayern Munich await them in the round of 16 stage.

Arsene Wenger’s side were drawn up against the German champions on Monday morning, the fourth time they are set to play the Bundesliga outfit during the last five campaigns.

Additionally, the Gunners also finished behind them during the group stages of the European competition last term.

Now, if the north London club are to lift their first European trophy then they must overcome one of the most dangerous sides in the competition.

Former Liverpool striker Owen seemed to sympathise with Arsenal on his personal Twitter account as they were given another tough draw.

Wenger’s side finished top of Group A ahead of French giants Paris Saint-Germain, who will face Barcelona.

Fellow Premier League sides Leicester City will take on Sevilla, while Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City face Monaco.

Tottenham were knocked out of the competition for finishing third, but they have dropped down to the Europa League where they have been drawn up against Belgian outfit Gent.

The Gunners have had a good start to the 2016/17 campaign, losing only on one occasion in the Premier League, to Liverpool on the opening day of the season.

As a result they sit second in the league table, three points behind leaders Chelsea as they prepare for two mouth-watering trips to Everton and Manchester City for their next two matches.

In other Arsenal news, supporters on Twitter are not happy as they have draw Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
