Eunan O’Kane is another of Leeds’ summer signings who has made a huge impact at Elland Road, according to a report.
The Yorkshire Evening Post paid tribute to the Elland Road management for the astute signings of on-loan centre-back Pontus Jansson and right-back Luke Ayling.
The newspaper also highlighted how well central midfielder O’Kane has settled in at Leeds since joining from Bournemouth in a permanent deal on transfer deadline day in August.
O’Kane has emerged as a first-choice player under Garry Monk and started his 10th league match of the season in Saturday’s stunning 3-2 win at Norwich.
The Yorkshire Evening Post gave O’Kane a rating of nine out of 10 for his performance at Carrow Road.
“Helped Leeds to tick but was ambitious enough to get forward in the move which led to [Chris] Wood’s strike. Another great bit of business,” the report stated.
O’Kane’s performances have been especially important given the absence through injury of club captain Liam Bridcutt for the last six weeks.
The Republic of Ireland player has been paired with one of Kalvin Phillips or Ronaldo Vieira, the Leeds academy products, during the period which has coincided with the team’s revival.
Garry Monk’s side came from a goal down at Norwich to secure their seventh victory from 10 league matches and climb into the play-off positions for the first time this season.
Goals from Pontus Jansson, Wood and Hadi Sacko secured a famous win for Leeds to maintain the feel-good factor at Elland Road.
Leeds’ third victory in a row lifts them to sixth place in the Championship and into the play-off spots for the first time since December 2016.
In other Leeds news, a senior player is destined to leave the club in January.
