Garry Monk is delighted to have received a home draw as Leeds continue their EFL Cup run against Norwich in the Round of 16.

The tie, which will take place during the week beginning on October 24th, will be played at Elland Road as Leeds look to secure their place in the quarter finals.

Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Lee Sobot quoted Monk on his personal Twitter account during his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s game against Ipswich, as saying that “a home draw is a good one.”

Leeds progressed into the last 16 after beating Blackburn for the second time in a week thanks to Chris Wood’s late winner, after he bundled the ball home from close range.

The win gave Monk’s side their third win on the bounce, and they will look to continue their run of good form against Ipswich on Saturday.

A win for the Yorkshire giants will take them into the top half of the Championship table for the first time this season, if results go their way.

A loss though, could see all of their hard work come undone and they would continue to languish above the relegation zone.

Mick McCarthy’s men will be raring to go, as a win could see them move into the play-off positions, as they look to keep a third clean sheet on the bounce.

In other Leeds news, Chris Wood has identified the five players that have been at the heart of Leeds’ revival.
