Alberto Moreno has posted an Instagram message ahead Liverpool’s clash against Manchester United amid speculation he might start the match.

Speculation circled on Twitter just hours before kick-off that the out-of-form left-back might be a shock inclusion in the starting XI, as injuries force manager Jurgen Klopp to rejig his preferred starting XI.

This comes after injuries to regular starters Giorgino Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana, who have been integral to the team’s impressive start to the season.

Now, left-back Moreno, who has seen his starting place taken by versatile teammate James Milner this season, posted this message on his Instagram account leading up to the Manchester United game.

The Spaniard has not featured for the Merseysiders since their 3-0 cup victory against Derby in September and Milner has been deployed in the left-back position for every league game since the 4-3 defeat to Arsenal on the opening day of the campaign.

Moreno gave away a penalty and was at fault for a goal at the Emirates, as his positional play and tackling was questioned by supporters and media alike.

Now he could line-up for what is expected to be a highly charged atmosphere and game at Anfield on Monday night.

In other Liverpool team news, the Manchester United squad have taken stretching sessions in a car park, ahead of their trip to Anfield on Monday night.
