Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Luke Shaw have been passed fit for Manchester United’s clash against Liverpool on Monday.

The availability of the key duo had been in doubt for the highly anticipated Premier League showdown at Anfield.

But Jose Mourinho revealed on Friday afternoon, as quoted by the official United Twitter account, that both players will be available for selection against Jurgen Klopp’s fourth-placed side.

Mourinho also told MUTV that all of the club’s players arrived back fit and well from international duty.

Playmaker Mkhitaryan missed Armenia’s international World Cup qualifier against Romania at the request of manager Mourinho as he works his way back to full fitness.

The 27-year-old, who has had slow start to life in England following his £26.3 million summer transfer from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund, had been struggling with a thigh injury.

Mkhitaryan has made only one start in his four appearances for the Old Trafford club this term, last appearing in his side’s 2-1 defeat against rivals Man City, when he was subbed at half-time.

Meanwhile, left-back Shaw missed England’s World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia, as interim manager Gareth Southgate decided not to rush him back into action.

The England international has made five league appearances for Man United this term after missing most of last season with a cruciate knee injury.

Liverpool are currently fourth in the league table with 16 points after seven games, while United are three points behind in sixth.
