Manchester United are monitoring the progress of Celtic star forward Moussa Dembele, according to a report.

The Sun have claimed that United scout Stephen McCarthy was in attendance of the Hoops’ crushing 4-0 victory over Ross County on Wednesday evening.

The 20-year-old bright prospect started the match on the bench before coming on for Ryan Christie on the 58th minute and netting the final goal of the game.

The young French star moved north of the border to join Brendan Rodgers’ side in the summer following an impressive spell in the Championship with Fulham.

He has started for the Hoops in outstanding form bagging 15 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions and with four years left on his contract the Scotland giants will be keen to keep hold of Dembele for as long as possible.

The striker has been pivotal to the Hoops’ impressive start to the new campaign, running seven points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a game in hand over second placed Aberdeen.

They face a trip to the Dons on Saturday, where Dembele will be keen to continue his scoring run and in turn extending Celtic’s distance over the rest of the challengers.

In other Celtic transfer news, Paddy Riley could be handed a route back in football with the Hoops.
