Shkodran Mustafi has posted a picture on Instagram of himself performing a slide tackle for former side Everton against Arsenal six years ago today.

The 24-year-old made just one appearance for the Toffees during his three-year stay at Goodison Park, but was a regular member of their reserve side.

Posting on his personal Instagram account, the Germany international posted a picture that sees him tackling former Gunner Jay Emmanuel-Thomas back in November 2010 during a reserve match.

A summer signing from La Liga outfit Valencia, World Cup winner Mustafi has become a regular in the Arsenal side following his £35million move back to England.

In his 12 appearances for the North London outfit, Mustafi has helped keep six clean sheets as the Gunners continue to stretch their unbeaten run to 16 games in all competitions.

Now with the Germany national squad, Mustafi is expected to feature against San Marino and Italy during the international break before returning to face Manchester United on November 19.

A win for the Gunners against Jose Mourinho’s United could see Arsene Wenger’s side move to the top of the Premier League if Chelsea and Liverpool drop points.

In other Arsenal news, this midfielder has picked up an injury ahead of the clash between United and Arsenal.
