Hadi Sacko has thanked departing Leeds captain Sol Bamba for his help since signing for Leeds this summer.
Bamba left the Championship giants on Thursday, citing personal reasons.
Speed merchant Sacko posted a message on his personal Instagram account on Saturday afternoon, referring to Bamba as his “captain”.
The 49-time international, who had less than 12 months remaining on his Elland Road contract, decided to leave the club the day after the transfer window ended.
That came after it was reported that manager Garry Monk was willing to listen to deadline-day offers for the player.
Bamba had fallen down the centre-back pecking order at Leeds behind new signings Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley, while Liam Cooper remains first choice.
Sacko had been with Sporting Lisbon for two years following a £1million move from Bordeaux in 2014 but hadn’t established himself in their senior side.
Leeds’ number 24 spent the second half of the 2015-16 season on loan with second-tier French club Sochaux, where he scored twice from 14 appearances.
The winger has forced his way into Monk’s starting eleven this season, ahead of the likes of £3million signing Kemar Roofe, impressing the Leeds faithful with his electric pace and direct approach.
Sacko, who has five France under-20 caps to his name, has made six appearances for Monk’s side this term, scoring in the 2-1 loss to Birmingham.
In other Leeds news, this Premier League boss has delivered this verdict on Eunan O’Kane.
