Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has told fans that the club do not need to sell any players this summer.
England star Andros Townsend is the only major player to leave the club in the current window, moving to Crystal Palace in a £13million deal last week.
Georginio Wijnaldum, Moussa Sissoko and Daryl Janmaat have publicly stated they could be looking for new clubs due to their reluctance to play in the Championship.
“We knew we might lose players, especially Andros because he had a great season and he wanted to play in the Premier League,” Benitez told Sky Sports.
“I’m happy with the players that we have and we don’t have to sell anybody.”
The Magpies have already made several additions to their squad as they prepare for life in the Championship with Dwight Gayle, Matz Sels and Matt Ritchie all arriving in the current transfer window.
Benitez failed to keep Newcastle in the Premier League last season as the club finished 18th, amassing just 37 points throughout the campaign but fans were delighted when the former Real Madrid manager opted to stay on and manage the Toon in England’s second tier.
The Tyneside outfit will begin life in the Championship against Fulham on 5 August.
