Newcastle could make two changes to their team when they take on Norwich in a Championship clash at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.
Rafa Benitez’ side travel to the play-off chasers looking to build upon their 1-0 win over Wolves at the weekend.
The Spaniard might axe senior man Jack Colback and striker Aleksandar Mitrovic for the clash against Alex Neil’s men.
This could see, Isaac Hayden come into the team, alongside the hard working Daryl Murphy, who will be hoping to impress his manager.
The Championship leaders will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table against the seventh-placed side.
But, midfielder Colback, who was disappointing against Wolves, might not be the player used to help open up a lead on their rivals.
Instead, Hayden could come into the team as he may slot alongside the consistent and currently the club’s best player Jonjo Shelvey in the middle of the park.
Striker Murphy could be up top replacing Mitrovic, who was reckless during the last league match despite getting on the scoresheet.
He should have been sent off prior to scoring the goal in the first half as Benitez substituted the youngster during the break.
The likes Mo Diame, Yoan Gouffran and Matt Ritchie could join the trio in helping the north east club pick up three points.
Furthermore, centre-back duo Jamaal Lascelles and Ciaran Clark, who produced a man-of-the-match display at the weekend, could continue at the heart of the club’s defence.
This could also see Paul Dummett and the dangerous DeAndre Yedlin keep their places in the team with goalkeeper Karl Darlow possibly continuing his role in between the sticks.
n other Newcastle team news, the club could reignite their interest in this Premier League winger (not Andros Townsend).
