Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez could give USA international DeAndre Yedlin his full debut after he came off the bench to be an unlikely scorer against Derby.

The former Sunderland loanee bundled over Ayoze Perez’s downward header in the dying moments to secure the Magpies’ three points, and their fifth win in a row.

If Benitez opts to start the 23-year-old speed merchant, Holland international Vurnon Anita is likely to make way at right-back as the former Real Madrid boss looks to keep faith with most of his in-form side.

Serbian target man Aleksander Mitrovic is set to continue his wait to return to the starting eleven after recovering from a head injury against League Two side Cheltenham Town, as in-form Dwight Gayle continues his impressive form.

Mohamed Diame is set to keep Spaniard Ayoze Perez out of the side, while Frenchman Yoann Gouffran is likely to continue his run in the side after producing a swashbuckling volley in the first half of Saturday’s 2-0 win.

Versatile midfielder Jack Colback is set to continue to partner England international Jonjo Shelvey in the middle of the park, while captain Jamaal Lascelles is expected to continue a solid relationship with Chancel Mbemba that has seen the Magpies concede just three goals in seven games.

Elsewhere, Matt Ritchie, Paul Dummett and Matz Sels all continue their run in the starting eleven. A win could see the Toon move to win one point of league leaders Huddersfield.
