Jonjo Shelvey was named in the starting XI for Newcastle as they take on QPR – and fans on Twitter were delighted with his return.
Rafa Benitez’ side are looking to bounce back from the humiliating 3-0 defeat against League One Oxford in the FA Cup at the weekend.
The take on Ian Holloway’s men on Wednesday night at St James Park, looking to continue their good form in the league.
Star player Shelvey was an unused substitute for the encounter against Oxford as he now makes a return to the team.
He will be looking to help his side claim top spot in the table by recording three points against the London-based club.
Leaders Brighton don’t play until Thursday night against Huddersfield, so until then, Benitez’ men can go top with a win.
One fan backed Shelvey to provide two assists for the midweek clash, with striker Daryl Murph netting a brace.
While another supporter asked how long will star striker Dwight Gayle be out for, but he was pleased to see the return of midfielder Shelvey.
Overall fans were pleased with his return as they believe the starting XI played by Benitez is the strongest available team.

Shelvey has played 28 games in all competitions for the north east club this season, scoring three goals and supplying ten assists.
The former Liverpool man has been more lethal in the Championship from the middle of the park, providing seven assists and scoring three goals in 23 league games.
