Newcastle United could sign Ravel Morrison in January – and there has been a mixed response from fans to the news.

According to The Sun, Morrison, 23, is expected to join the Magpies in January after a failed spell with Italian outfit Lazio.

Morrison was sold by former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson in 2012 to West Ham and has spent time on loan with Queens Park Rangers, Birmingham and Cardiff.

The youngster has played 103 games in his career, scoring 19 goals and providing eight assists.

Some supporters on social media shared their concerns at Morrison’s ill-discipline at previous clubs while others believe Rafa Benitez could reform the starlet.

Here are a collection of some of the messages on Twitter:

Newcastle currently sit third in the Championship after picking up 15 points from their opening eight games in England’s second tier.

Benitez’s side have won five of their last six matches in the league after suffering back to back losses to Fulham and Huddersfield in August.

The Toon welcome Wolves to St James’ Park in the EFL Cup on Tuesday before an away trip to Aston Villa four days later.

In other Newcastle news, Benitez has set his sights on achieving the same job satisfaction he had at Liverpool at latest club Newcastle.
