Aarons has slowly been breaking into the Magpies first-team and he came on as a 61st minute substitute in the Toons’ opening match in the Championship against Fulham.
He scored his first goal for the club on the final day of Newcastle’s Premier League campaign last season in the club’s 5-1 drubbing of Tottenham.
Fans of the north east club are delighted to have signed up one of their best prospects to a long-term deal, with many likening it to a new signing for the club.
The fans took to Twitter to share their views on the news:

I'm pleased to see Aarons sign a new deal but think he's miles away from being the player some people think he is!! #nufc

With the club’s new signing Matt Ritchie expected to be a main player for Newcastle this season, it leaves Aarons to battle for a starting place with the likes of Isaac Hayden, Vernon Anita and Jack Colback.
Young goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has already agreed a new four-year deal at the club this summer as Rafa Benitez looks keen to keep youngsters in his squad.
In other Newcastle team news, midfielder Moussa Sissoko could feature against Huddersfield on Saturday.
