Newcastle star Adam Armstrong has delighted the club’s fans on Twitter after he scored for England Under-20s.
The on-loan Barnsley star struck the Young Lions’ second goal of the evening, as they secured a 2-0 win over the Netherlands. Celtic’s loan star Patrick Roberts grabbed the first goal of the night.
Armstrong was played through on goal and looked to play the ball under onrushing goalkeeper Joel Drommell, but the FC Twente stopper saved Armstrong’s shot, only for the 19-year-old to slide in the rebound.
The win gives England the perfect start in their four nations tournament, as they face Germany on Friday night at Huddersfield’s John Smith’s stadium before playing against the United States on Monday.
Newcastle fans were impressed by Armstrong’s goal, with many complimenting his natural instinct to get on the scoresheet.

Armstrong is looking to impress Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez during a loan spell with Championship outfit Barnsley, but his first under-20’s strike will have done no harm to his first-team chances at St. James’ Park.
The youngster has not scored for the Magpies in 23 league and cup run outs, but has started his loan spell in impressive form for Paul Heckingbottom’s side. Two goals in six league and cup games has given him a starting place alongside hitman Sam Winnall.
In other Newcastle news, Moussa Sissoko has delivered this damning verdict on the Toon.
