Newcastle supporters on Twitter praised the attacking performance of DeAndre Yedlin after he helped Rafa Benitez’ side draw 1-1 with Aston Villa on Saturday evening.
Newcastle took the lead in the first-half when Yedlin’s cross caused problems for the Villa defence, with centre-back Tommy Elphick unfortunately converting the ball into his own net.
Yedlin’s performance forced Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo to change his formation in the second-half, with substitute Aaron Tshibola nodding in from a corner in the 88th minute.
The speedy right-back was substituted in the 74th minute after a muscle injury ended his game early at Villa Park.
Toon Army supporters stated that the £5million they made to purchase him from Tottenham in the summer was a steal.
Additionally, other fans praised the American for his consistent threat on the right side, with his pace causing numerous problems for Jordan Ayew and Jordan Amavi.
Magpies fans were pleased to see the attacking displays from Yedlin claiming that he is possibly an upgrade on their former right-back Daryl Janmaat who made a move to Watford in the summer.
Here is a selection of Newcastle supporters on Twitter reacting to Yedlin’s performance.

Good to see newcastle playing attacking football and remain relatively solid at the back. Yedlin is looking like a baller also #toontoon⚫️⚪️

Yedlin looks a proper player – potentially a huge improvement on Janmaat
