Roma have made an offer to sign Georginio Wijnaldum on loan from Newcastle, according to a report.

Newcastle reportedly value their top scorer at £30million and Roma have now suggested a temporary move instead.

Sky Italia, as reported through Football Italia, claim the Italian giants have offered to take Wijnaldum on loan for a season and if he performs well for the club, they would then be willing to pay £30million for his services.

Roma are reportedly confident their offer for the 25-year-old will be accepted as they look to find replacements for departed midfield star Miralem Pjanic who has joined Juventus.

A meeting is thought to have taken place between Newcastle and Roma where the Serie A club put forward their proposal.

Although the exact price is not named, it is believed to be in the region of the £30million mark with Newcastle in no rush to wrap up a deal for a player they have under contract until 2020.

Wijnaldum ended Newcastle’s dismal season in which they were relegated into the Championship as the club’s top scorer with 11 goals in his first season in the Premier League.

The Holland international arrived at Newcastle from PSV last summer in a deal worth £14.5million.

In other Newcastle news, the Magpies are ready to move for this Spanish striker.
