Nigeria’s Football Federation have approached Tottenham wonderkid Josh Onomah to try to convince him to change his allegiance to the Super Eagles, according to a report.
The 19-year-old was given more regular first-team football under manager Mauricio Pochettino last term, and he made 19 appearances in all competitions.
Nigerian outlet All Nigeria Soccer claim that officials have already made an approach to the England youth player, who has represented his country since the Under-16 side.
The speed merchant, normally used as a winger by Pochettino, was born in Enfield but is eligible to play for the Super Eagles if a request is made to FIFA. However, at the moment the attacker is believed to be fully committed to the Three Lions.
Onomah has already appeared for Spurs twice this term, coming off the bench against Crystal Palace and Liverpool.
Tottenham’s number 25 made his England Under-20 debut against Brazil on Thursday, coming off the bench at St.George’s Park before starting against the same opponents on Saturday as England’s youth side lost 2-1 at Kidderminster’s Aggborough Stadium.
In other Tottenham news, Glenn Hoddle has delivered these verdicts over Jack Wilshere and Ross Barkley.
