Norwich have fended off competition to sign Liverpool teen sensation Sergi Canos, according to a report.
The Independent journalist Jack Pitt-Brooke claimed on his personal Twitter account that the East Anglia club have beaten Fulham, Brentford and Bristol City to land Canos.
He says that a £2.5million transfer will be announced on Wednesday after the Spaniard agreed the terms of a four-year Norwich deal on Tuesday.
The winger is set to quit Anfield following a contract wrangle with the club.
The 19-year-old, who joined the Merseysiders from Barcelona in 2013, is said to demanded wages of around £10,000 a week, but Liverpool have refused to bow to his demands.
Canos been attracting a lot of interest after a successful loan spell last season at Brentford, where he scored seven goals in 39 appearances, adding a further five in assists.
Despite his good form at rhe Bees last season, manager Jurgen Klopp does not regard him as a first-team candidate.
With the signing of Southampton’s Sadio Mane, Canos has fallen even further down the pecking order and the former Borussia Dortmund manager has decided to cash in on his teen prodigy.
The winger, who joined the Merseysiders from Barcelona in 2013, was given his Liverpool debut in their last Premier League game of the season against West Brom.
However, the Spain Under-19 international will now be plying his trade in the Championship as Alex Neil looks to return The Canaries to the top-flight at the first attempt.
In other Liverpool news, Klopp is close to securing a deal for this 28-year-old after a nightmare stay at Anfield.
