Arsene Wenger must be on the verge of a mental break down.
Robin van Persie, Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas, Bacary Sagna, the list of players heading straight for the exit door as soon as they hit form at Arsenal could fill a phone directory.
And guess what? We think it’s happening again!
This time in the shape of speedy right-back sensation Hector Bellerin.
Apparently, Arsene Wenger is lining up a new contract for the youngster but so far he’s signed nothing!
The 21-year-old ace has got Barcelona interested, and when they come calling the result is almost always the same – he’ll end up leaving!
The Gunners are paying Bellerin £50,000 per-week at the moment, which is not to be sniffed at, but the lad could earn four times that in Spain.
Wenger has, of course, tried to quash speculation that he’ll be moving away. He said: “Of course his future is at Arsenal. That’s why I’m surprised by the speculation.
“So we will certainly try to extend his contract, but for me, his long-term future is here.”
O.K Arsene, we’ll believe it when we see it.
Gunners fans will be especially annoyed after seeing local rivals Tottenham tie-down several of their star players to new deals this summer.
We hope Bellerin doesn’t leave, although it would be funny to see Wenger have another strop!
Just look what happened last time he got really annoyed:
