Nottingham Forest fans are worried on Twitter after youngster Ben Brereton scored four goals in a 5-0 win against QPR’s development side.

The striker looked confident and assured as he put QPR’s defence to the sword with four well taken goals that left the R’s goalkeeper shell shocked.

Brereton’s best goal of the came in the second half, as he drove past the defence with a bobbling ball before smashing his shot high into the roof of the net from 10 yards out.

Forest’s other goal of the game came from new signing Lewis Walters, after Brereton broke the offside trap to squad square for the former Leeds forward who finished calmly into an empty net.

Fans reacted with delight and worry in equal measure on Twitter, as they do not want to see a repeat of owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi’s decision to sell academy product Oliver Burke to German side RB Leipzig.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

The win for Forest’s development side is an unlikely one after a dismal start to the season that has seen them win just once in nine games, including a 7-0 loss to Brighton.

However, fans will be delighted to see that Forest’s academy is still managing to produce the quality that was on show on Friday afternoon, as Brereton gives manager Philippe Montanier a potential selection headache ahead of Forest’s home game against Birmingham on October 14.

In other Nottingham Forest news, Tottenham were given permission to speak to Burke before he joined Leipzig.
