Striker Apostolos Vellios could return to the Nottingham Forest line-up that takes on Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday afternoon.

Philippe Montanier is likely to make four changes to the Forest side that were dumped out of the EFL Cup by Arsenal on Tuesday night.

Vellios, Lica, Mustapha Carayol and Danny Fox may return for the trip to Hillsborough, with Nicklas Bendtner, Ben Osborn, Nicolao Dumitru and Hildeberto Pereira likely to miss out.

Reds captain Henri Lansbury is expected to start in midfield, with the reliable Ben Cohen alongside him.

Despite conceding 17 league goals in eight games Forest manager Montanier is expected to opt for a back four of Danny Fox, Matt Mills, Michael Mancienne and Eric Lichaj.

Forest have not kept a single clean sheet this season, but goalkeeper Vladimir Stojković is expected to retain his place despite conceding four in midweek.

In attack Mustapha Carayol could start out wide, with Lica occupying the other flank as the pacy duo are expected to provide the service for forward Vellios.

Additionally, Pajtim Kasami is likely to start further forward in attack, as the Reds aim to add to the 16 goals scored in eight league games this term.

Montanier’s side last won a game in August when they beat Garry Monk’s Leeds side 3-1 at the City ground.

Forest sit in 13th position in the Championship table with 11 points from eight games having registered three wins, two draws and three losses.

In contrast Carlos Carvahal’s Sheffield Wednesday are level on points with their Championship rivals, but Forest edge the Yorkshire club on goal difference.
