Arsenal have been installed as the favourites to sign Julian Draxler before the summer transfer window closes.

The German international was rated at 2/1 on Tuesday by SkyBet to make what would be a sensational move to the Emirates.

The Gunners are now clearly ahead of the likes of Juventus and PSG in the race for the 22-year-old, although he remains at 4/11 to stay at Wolfsburg for the coming season.

TransferMarketWeb recently reported that the Bundesliga star was the subject of a £43million bid from the Gunners this summer, which is £12m more than the fee Wolfsburg paid to sign him from Schalke last summer.

The recent drop in odds suggest that Arsene Wenger may well be targeting the German midfielder again, as he looks to bolster his front line before the transfer window slams shut.

Draxler can play anywhere in the front four of a traditional 4-2-3-1, and Jochim Low experimented with the youngster as a striker in the Euro 2016 championships.

The 6ft 2in attacker already has 23 Bundesliga goals and 24 league assists to his name, and is tipped to become one of Germany’s leading lights in the future.

He is under contract at the Bundesliga outfit until 2020, meaning it would take a mammoth offer to prise their star in-the-making away.

Wenger has already completed the signings of Granit Xhaka, Rob Holding and Takuma Asano this summer, but is still looking to strengthen his squad before the transfer window shuts.

In other Arsenal transfer news, the Gunners have made an approach for this Ligue 1 defender.
