Everton have been installed odds-on favourites to sign Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Jose Mourinho revealed on Friday morning that the France international will be allowed to leave Old Trafford next month for the “right offer”.

The BBC Sport website claim that West Brom have already tabled a £13million bid for Schneiderlin after manager Tony Pulis broke cover to reveal his club had lodged an offer.

But the bookies are convinced that Schneiderlin is far more likely to move to Everton than the Hawthorns, suggesting a series of heavy bets on the possibility.

Sky Bet installed Everton as strong favourites on Friday afternoon to land the midfield anchorman next month despite the West Brom bid.

Everton are priced at 1/4, a long way ahead of West Brom, the second-placed club in the betting at 5/1.

The Premier League duo are clear of Tottenham, who are 18/1 to land Schneiderlin after making an enquiry for him during the summer.

Everton are expected to be one of the most active clubs in the winter window as they aim to take advantage of Farhad Moshiri’s riches to climb the league table.

Ronald Koeman’s side are ninth in the Premier League heading into the festive period after Monday’s 1-0 defeat to Liverpool meant they missed the opportunity to climb above Southampton into seventh.

In other Everton transfer news, Tony Cascarino has urged Koeman to consider a much improved Premier League striker as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.
