Liverpool have been installed as second favourites for the Premier League title after a hugely promising start to the campaign.

The Reds are now 5/1 with betting company SkyBet to win the league and are considered the closest challengers to 8/13 odd-on favourites Manchester City.

Arsenal (8/1), Manchester United (9/1), Tottenham (16/1) and Chelsea at 18/1 are available as the outside bets after the opening six matches of the season.

Jurgen Klopp has managed to transform Liverpool this season and made them potential title contenders.

The German arrived at Anfield last October and the club’s players are finally beginning to match his attacking philosophy.

Liverpool have been in fantastic form in front of goal this season, scoring 24 goals in their first eight matches across all competitions.

The Reds have already recorded victories against Arsenal and Chelsea in the league, with their only slip up coming in a 2-0 defeat to newly-promoted Burnley.

SkyBet revealed their Premier League title odds before the season started and Liverpool were ranked as the fifth most likely team to win the league.

The club’s impressive start has seen them drop for 8/1 to 5/1 and they will now hope to challenge City.

The two sides do not meet in the league until New Year’s Eve and it could be a fascinating fixture.

Liverpool have never won the Premier League since its introduction in the 1992/93 season, with their closest effort coming under Brendan Rodgers when the club finished second in the 2013/14 season.

In other Liverpool news, Stan Collymore is still uncertain about the club’s player despite his recent upturn in form.
