Mesut Ozil is missing from the Arsenal team for their Premier League clash against Stoke on Sunday.
The playmaker did not travel with the squad for their trip to the Britannia Stadium after being absent from training on Saturday.
Arsenal’s official Twitter account claimed on Sunday that Ozil has a “slight foot injury”.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has replaced the Germany World Cup winner in the only change from the Gunners’ side that drew 3-3 at Liverpool in midweek.
Football Insider revealed on Saturday afternoon that Ozil did not take part in the training session at the club’s London Colney headquarters as they made final preparations to face Stoke.
Alexis Sanchez took part in full training after a six-week absence with a hamstring injury but was not named in the squad to face Mark Hughes’ team. Mohamed Elneny is selected for the first time after being confirmed as an Arsenal player earlier this week.

Ozil has been wrapped in cotton wool by Arsene Wenger over the last month as the manager attempts to keep his star player in prime condition.
He was rested for the Gunner’s FA Cup third round clash against Sunderland a week ago and has trained only intermittently over the last month.
Football Insider revealed on 2 January that Ozil led Arsenal’s title charge over the festive period despite struggling with a virus and hardly trained due to the condition, which was later confirmed by Wenger.
Ozil delivered man-of-the-match displays in the Gunners’ wins over Manchester City and Bournemouth to take Arsene Wenger’s team to the Premier League summit.
