Palermo officials will fly to London to hold new talks with Arsenal about signing Joel Campbell, Football Insider sources understand.
The Serie A club have made enquiries about signing the Costa Rica international on loan but the Gunners are holding out for a permanent deal.
Fresh discussions will take place between the two clubs this week, as Palermo chief Maurizio Zamparini prepares to fly to the England capital to meet with his Arsenal counterparts.
As revealed by Football Insider, Arsenal want £4million for Campbell and are reluctant to agree a loan move.
Campbell has one year remaining on his Arsenal contract and the current window represents the last opportunity for the Londoners to get a significant transfer fee.
The 23-year-old is surplus to requirements at Emirates Stadium, where he is behind Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck in the forward pecking order.
Arsenal are reluctant to sanction another loan for Campbell, who has had temporary spells at Lorient, Real Betis, Olympiakos and Villarreal since moving to north London in 2011.
