Alan Pardew has claimed that Everton star Yannick Bolasie is as fast over the first five yards as any player he has ever worked with.

Pardew reluctantly sold Bolasie to Everton from Crystal Palace this summer for £25million and will be hoping the pacy winger fails to fire against former club on Friday night.

Bolasie, 27, was brought to Goodison Park by new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman but has failed to find the net in eight games for his new side.

“The one thing we know about Bolasie, is that we know everything about him,” Pardew told the Sun.

“On his day he is perhaps undefendable at times. He is as fast from zero to five yards as any player that I have ever worked with.

“But that is not to say that we can’t deal with him. We hope to. I love Yala. I just hope he doesn’t have one of the super-duper games he can have.”

The attacker has scored 28 goals and provided 38 assists in 280 games throughout his career and recently devised a new goal-scoring plan with Thierry Henry.

Bolasie will be pumped for the game knowing a win for Koeman’s side would take them up to second in the table.

The Blues have already beaten West Brom, Sunderland and Bournemouth this season as they chase European qualification.

In other Everton news, Paul Merson believes there is “not much between” Romelu Lukaku and Christian Benteke ahead of the Blue’s clash with Crystal Palace on Friday night.
